When it’s running, the door chime may or may not sound. It sometimes comes on when it hits a bump, sometimes without one. I looked at it earlier, and the light was on. (I have turned the center one off. I don’t see a way to turn off the front ones) An hour later the light is off. No one has been in the car since this afternoon.

2013 Explorer Limited. January 5, 2014. #4. I didn't wait 4 hours last night for the block heater so I could start the Explorer, I said the hell with it and went to bed. The lights were off this morning when I started the Explorer. The interior lights went off in about 30 seconds after starting the engine.
The interior lights are shutting off now but the computer screen stays on for a while and then shuts off. It used to go off immediately after using the key fob to lock it up. What could be making the computer screen stay on for so long when all I did was take out some fuses and the relay.

Expert. 1,114 Answers. This is a common issue with Ford products and what you are looking at is a bad door jam sensor. The bad thing about it is that Ford started putting them inside the door instead of in the door jam. So what this means is a trip to the Ford dealer, so they can replace the sensor.
