I have made a comment earlier on my challenges syncing my 735x, but feel it is important to note that NO Garmin watches sync with iOs. So if you have a iPhone, beware. I grew so frustrated with my 735x issues that I (with huge reservations) bought a 45. The same problems exist, and I confirmed in a call with Garmin support that this is true for
Activity Settings. These settings allow you to customize each preloaded activity app based on your needs. For example, you can customize data pages and enable alerts and training features. Not all settings are available for all activity types. Select > , select an activity profile, and select > Activity Settings.
Under the link I posted a zip archive with firmware for 735XT from version 3.10 to 9.40 including various beta versions. If you want to go back with the software to a version earlier than the latest one, try to install a beta version and then a production version.

Anyway, the 735xt is doing ok, but the battery life is getting a little bit lower and I am looking to upgrade. I have a very limited budget, but I can find the instinct 2 and 955 refurbished for about the same price. (or a 945 used/refurbished for about half the price of either).
